Greetings and Happy Friday, As I mentioned in my trading room a bit ago, I am closing early today for a dentist appointment and then hitting the road for the weekend. I just published my thoughts on the case for higher yields this Q1 – the When, Where and Why. It’s timely given how low […]

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving break. I want to apologize for being quiet/inactive. My beloved pet, Moe, of 13 years is dying and it has taken my focus. I am flying one of my daughters home from Europe (they don’t celebrate Thanksgiving abroad so she wasn’t here last week to say goodbye). I will […]

With an interest rate decision out at 2:00 PM EST and press conference at 2:30, the market will be dead until the Fed, so I am not having my usual 9AM open for my Trading Room, but will start at 1:30 PM and likely keep going until after AAPL reports at 4:30 ET. See ya […]

Eventful day, too, with NFP at 8:30 AM then US Trade Balance print and Powell speaks at some point. Yes we bounced strongly off that SPX 2875 level given Thursday, but the 200 day is now a magnet and that’s where I expect we will be sooner rather than later. Trade safe and talk to […]

It’s the Friday before Labor Day weekend and markets are rising on hope (and end of month rebalancing) into expected trade talks between Trump and Xi today – right before the long Labor Day weekend. Keep in mind Monday is Labor Day and markets are closed. Tariffs go into effect, or they don’t, September 1, […]

Markets, as of close today, had retraced the entire drop from Sunday night. It was not an easy bounce to play and I said I found the move to be more technical in nature than fundamental and as such hold it with suspicion. After the close, we got more Huawei news and Yuan currency moves […]

A new month brings NFP Friday and Trump has an announcement at 1:45ET on EU tariffs. I want to get my arms around market reaction and put on some new positions before my 11:00 call.

I will re-open my trading room 1:45ET in preparation for the FOMC minutes at 2 and 2:30 press conference. Housekeeping: I have also worked with Zeke to fix some of the recent issues that occurred with recent Trade Alerts: Bad Fills on Wide Bid-Ask Orders: Trend trade THC was up 61% when I went to […]

The Fed isn't going to like it... but Powell will have some explaining to do tomorrow about the central bank's "not QE" program.
The noise around this question -- if "liquidity" via T-bill buying is driving stock markets -- has gotten too loud to ignore.
My job is to identify inflection points and market risks so as to help clients more safely trade in any market environment.
