Pretty much all has played out since my May 21, 2018 Gone Fishing Newsletter to clients: Commodities and Currencies still Reign.
In it was my analysis to help guide clients’ Macro-to-Micro trading – from USD spike to $95 and FXE tag of 200D as well as the correlated plays in Gold, Miners, Bonds worth playing once they did.
More to the point, I held firm with my Gold short outlook despite all the talk of it moving viciously higher post Fed – having said/tweeted for weeks:
“GLD and GDX have one more flush lower”. They flushed today.
Here was my roadmap:
May 11th I wrote: “I expect GLD to potentially trade down into the $120 area from which it will gather up enough time and energy to move higher – but not until the next Fed meeting in June, maybe not even bottoming until July.”
But My Best Market Timing Calls extend past my US Dollar and Euro and Gold risk-defined technical price targets. I also provided the context around how each of these charts is supported by structural/fundamental/macro reasoning – as well as the technical levels to trade against.
And that’s not all. I did the same Macro-to-Micro analysis for the Yen, the Canadian Dollar, Oil, Rates and Bonds. And all have hit.
I even analyzed small caps (nothing to do yet), banks (short em into the Fed) and Nasdaq (buy). My one miss: HYG would fall. It hasn’t. Yet.
